That's shellac, not even vinyl! A proper His Master's Voice record goes with this beauty of a gramophone...
My residence this time was amidst an area of antique shops. Most of their wares were 'as found' (unrestored) old objects, a bargain-hunter's treasure hunt - but this shiny polished thing looked ready to 'plug and play'...

Like any gentleman of the day, he didn't ask her to fondle his sound system until after they were married.

First I noticed the eye-catching display of this shopfront in Nolita, then I noticed and fell in love with the shopkeeper. I was really happy that I merged both together with her permission. I'm sure this young lady must have a long trail of broken hearts behind her. She's worth it! :)

Unrelated to the previous shot - that was jsut a dashboard on sale along furniture at an antique dealer, and these toys decorate an office on the other side of the city...

When the cafe was recommended to me by seriykotik1970 (hi Ian!) as somewhere to have a nice tea while in Moscow, it was -25 out and it looked too long a walk from the metro for that level of decembery chill. I made it along finally on a trip last year, and liked it enough to go back on what may well be my last work trip to Moscow, earlier this year.
It's a very good cafe and - as you can see - very red inside...

About 57 coats of paint by yours truly. Of course spray paint doesn't come in the perfect shade of coral.
