Give Kids The World // Kissimmee, Florida
"The story of Give Kids The World begins with a little girl with a wish and the desire of one man to make that wish come true.
The little girl's name was Amy. Amy had leukemia and one wish - to visit the theme parks in Orlando. To facilitate Amy's wish, the request of a complimentary stay was made to a respected hotelier. As he had done many times before, the hotelier gladly obliged and Amy's wish was that much closer to being realized. Sadly, the remainder of Amy's travel plans took too long to arrange and her wish was never granted; Amy had passed away. Time simply ran out.
This unfulfilled wish inspired a man, the hotelier, to make a vow that no child in need would ever be failed again. That man was Henri Landwirth and his desire to ensure that Amy's story would never repeat itself is where the story of Give Kids The World begins."
My grandparents have been volunteering here since 1989. I grew up volunteering here. It is truly a magical place for families. It was Jen's first time seeing this wonderful place. We also volunteered for a couple of hours...it is a joy being around those children and families.

I am going to be an Aunt for the first time....I am already an Aunt to Jen's niece and nephew, but this is the first time in my family....My oldest brother and his wife are going to have a baby! ...Due around May 2011. I am so excited! ...All of our family is on the East Coast, and Jen's mom and her other brother (living in Nevada) are moving to Myrtle Beach to be closer to her other brother, wife, and their daughter. Me and Jen also have news that we will reveal as the time gets closer. ;D ....xoxoxo!

I have been searching Craigslist EVERY day for several months, looking for a chest that would fit under the window in our new den/tv/reading room (previously the home office/guest room). I finally found it yesterday. It was the perfect size, it had NINE drawers, nice clean lines, was in very nice condition, solid wood, and best of all, it matches Tommy's old late 70's nightstand that was already in the room! It's an exact match. AND it was under $100.!
Right now, the printer is on top, but I want to get a small flat screen tv, and find another place (hidden, hopefully!) for the wireless printer.
The room is very small - 10' by 10', but it has a walk-in closet, and tons of storage drawers! And it's always had a cozy feel - I'm a happy girl!! Oh, BTW, the last picture is a BEFORE shot of the room.
Have any of you bought anything on Craigslist? My two experiences have been great, I have found very nice gently used furniture at amazing prices!

With pouring rain and autumn darkness outside, it felt especially warm and cosy to be inside this place, chatting and laughing. Batteries were recharged again for the rest of the working week.
This riverside bar has become one of my regular joints recently. I really enjoy the ambiance there, and they seem to pay attention to little details, such as the local, seasonal apples at the counter at the moment.

What can I say? I love to read, and once I start reading, I get so caught up in the author's words, I (almost) forget whether I'm holding a book or a Kindle. As much as I love being surrounded by lots of books, it's still all about the READING for me!

My Pepere is 100% Irish. His father, a Muircheartaigh, came over from Kerry Island, Ireland when he was younger. My Pepere's mother was an Irish Swamp Yankee. We are very proud of our Irish heritage and true Moriarty's. Memere is French Canadian and her maiden name is Landry.

This is the finished sign for the Josiah Restaurant and Lounge. The double-sided, ceiling mounted “Josiah’s Restaurant” sign was a multi-layered, dimensional sign with gold beveled letters, faceted multi-color diamond elements topped with a routed cowboy figure in front of a setting sun.
