Phil and I walked to South Freo for dinner and passed Wild Poppy on the way back. It has very cute decor- sort of modern vintage- and it's easy to see everything through the window at night when it's dark and all the lamps are alight. I haven't been yet, but apparently it's becoming a popular place.

There's something about seeing empty shoes in a setting like this that gives a certain sense of calm and comfort similar to being at home.
Never mind that these were at a shop at Haji Lane.

Adam & Alicia's Wedding Day // Heritage Trail // Lisbon, Connecticut
My brother and his long-time fiancée were wed on Sunday, August 23rd 2009. It was a beautiful wedding, and I was honored to be a bridesmaid. They are a beautiful couple, and one year later they are now celebrating their honeymoon in Costa Rica.
About Heritage Trail: Heritage Trail Vineyards is situated upon an 18th century farm, which once belonged to Separatist, John Palmer. The vineyard is located on Route 169, one of America’s most registered scenic roads. The six acres of established vines include varietals, such as Cabernet Franc and French-American hybrids such as Vignoles. Visitors are invited to taste the sumptuous wines within a restored antique barn as well as to enjoy gourmet treats created by Heritage Trail Vineyards President, media chef and author, Chef Harry Schwartz. In addition, the vineyard features a boutique batch gelateria, smoke house for Heritage Trail Fish, and a selection of cheeses for the new café. Visitors are also welcome to explore the scenic grounds, which include two ponds, a rose garden, and New England woods. (website).

The wall decor on the pedestals were pretty well worn away by the elements, but you can see how much work went into the decorations on the outside of Stirling Castle.
Stirling Castle / in Scotland -- home of a tremendous amount of history and near where William Wallace won the Battle of Stirling Bridge against King Edward I (Hammer of the Scots), and near where Robert the Bruce won the battle of Bannockburn against King Edward I.
William Wallace was born 1272 and died a terrible death at the hands of King Edward I (Hammer of the Scots) in 1305 at age 33. He and his men had won an important battle at Stirling Bridge in 1297 when he was 25 years old. After being betrayed and caught by King Edward I he was hung drawn and quartered and there are rumors as to wear the pieces of his body are located.
Robert the Bruce was born 1274 and died 1329 at age 54. He and his army had won an important battle -- the Battle of Bannockburn -- in 1314 when he was 40 years old. He was crowned King of Scotland in 1306. His body is buried in Dunfermline Abbey and his heart on the grounds of Melrose Abbey. On his deathbed he had requested his friend to cut out his heart and take it on a Crusade to the Holy Lands. Sir James Douglas is said to have taken Bruce's heart in a casket with him to Spain in 1330 but, in a battle against the Moors, Douglas was killed. Sir William Keith brought Bruce's heart back to Scotland and it was buried in Melrose Abbey.

Overheard at the lunch table...
Friend 1: Amelia, wil you please put your camera away and stop taking photos?
Friend 2: You can't tell her to stop taking photos!!! It's like telling her not to breathe!!!
I have to say that I'm blessed to have friends who understand me and accept me for who I am...
Although that doesn't stop me from taking their ugly mugs even if they start making faces at me (as evidenced by the last photo in the comments).
Sorry Ade!!!
