I am not posting this shot for it's artistic value at all. In fact, I am only posting this shot because I missed my upload last night and I wanted to show another angle of the Mission Church. This one is very noisy because it was so dark. I was amazed I was actually able to get a shot at all.

Walking around the centre of Dublin and close to Temple Bar, what is now a Spar (every supermarket in the centre seemed to be a Spar!) has a more chequered history in its former life.
The old stone decor complete with signage indicates that this building was a former branch of Burton, the men's clothing shop. Back then it was more to do with tailoring and having clothes to fit you perfectly, hence "the tailor of taste" slogan that appears underneath.
The "monatgue" that appears to the left was because the company was founded by Montague Burton in 1903. A similar sign to this one is also present in their former headquarters in Leeds, which is now used as a warehouse.

I've been following @ameliesbakery on Twitter for a few weeks now, and I decided to pop in and see what all the fuss was about. I selected a Chocolate Mousse Tart with Raspberry filling in the middle and a cup of coffee (80% decaf). I must say that the tart was quite delicious and the coffee was surprisingly good as well (not burnt or bitter). The chocolate mousse was dense and filling. I loved the ambiance and overall atmosphere of the joint. There was also plenty of parking, which is rare in NoDa. Overall great experience!
Prelude to a Project: So, @ljphoto and I are going to start a project soon visiting different neighborhoods around Charlotte. This is not my official NoDa entry for this project, but it definitely whet my appetite for discovering new places in town.

One of the bars in Temple Bar that you certainly wouldn't miss whatsoever is the Oliver St John Gogarty's.
It's decorated in a really garish colour, has people singing along rather poorly to loud music, and has plenty of national flags outside to welcome all visitors to the bar.
Some like it, some loathe it - I'll leave that to you to decide.

This is The Quays Bar, in the Temple Bar area of the centre of Dublin.
The bar is reminiscent of the old school of pubs, with green tiling outside and gold decor, which makes it feel much more like something from Coronation Street!
